WHEN & WHERE CAN COLLEGE COACHES WATCH ME THIS FALL?

As the school year begins, not only are high school student-athletes beginning workouts, fall leagues and exposure camps, but college coaches are planning recruiting trips to follow up on the prospects they are currently recruiting and to evaluate new prospects in all classes.

At the NCAA Division I level, from September 4th - April 30th, college coaches are allowed to attend "regularly scheduled high school and preparatory school contests/tournaments and practices; regular scholastic activities involving prospective student-athletes enrolled only at the institution where the regular scholastic activities occur."

This means that a Division I coach can attend a team practice or workout at the high school or prep school where a prospect attends, and that practice or workout can only include players from that school. Division I coaches are also allowed to attend any regularly scheduled game that is included in a team's official schedule regardless of the location.

At the NCAA Division II, III, NAIA and Junior College levels, from August 1st - May 30th, college coaches are allowed to attend any practice, workout, camp, showcase or tournament regardless of who is participating and where it is held.
